Storytime

I am fascinated at times by song titles and albums that carry a theme. Christian bands do a good job of tying the songs in an album to the theme they are proclaiming. Although “Christian Rock” is not my favorite style to listen to, I came across the album by the band . “Kutless” . The title song is called ,”Sea of Faces”. The song titles from the album tell the story:

"Not What You See"
"All Alone"
"Better for You"
"Sea of Faces"
"Let You In"
"Passion"
"Perspectives"
"Treason"
"All of the Words"
"Troubled Heart"
"It's Like Me"

Today is the 25th birthday of guitarist James Mead. His testimony contains the following quote. I like it!

“Enjoy Jesus….He enjoys you, and wants to deliver you from all the stupid kind of stuff we all do, just like He did for me.”

There are only a few days left to make an impact in 2007. We will see lots of faces today and each one has a story. I intend to ask some faces to share their story with me. I have found that people are looking for a way to get their story out. Some have quit trying because it seems that no one want to listen. I figure that if I listen to their story, they might be willing to listen to mine. In the process, I may be able to share the story of Jesus.

” Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me.”
-Psalms 66:16

I love to tell the story of unseen things above,
Of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story, because I know ’tis true;
It satisfies my longings as nothing else can do.

I love to tell the story, ’twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story; more wonderful it seems
Than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams.

I love to tell the story, it did so much for me;
And that is just the reason I tell it now to thee.

I love to tell the story; ’tis pleasant to repeat
What seems, each time I tell it, more wonderfully sweet.

I love to tell the story, for some have never heard
The message of salvation from God’s own holy Word.

I love to tell the story, for those who know it best
Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest.

And when, in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song,
’Twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long.

I love to tell the story, ’twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love.
