Vantage Points
My thoughts this morning revolve around vantage points. Everyday I have some new perspective on some things because of different angles. I remember the first time I saw the Grand Canyon. We were on the North Rim looking down in amazement at the size and immensity of this hole in the ground. The next time I saw it was from a jet 30,000 feet in the air. It was spectacular but not the same as standing on the rim. The immensity of things changes for us as we look from different vantage points. The hugeness of God’s creation is no more understandable by us than we are to a small ant. The grain of sand is a boulder to the ant. If we look at the grain of sand through a microscope, we see a rock with jagged edges and to some microorganisms that grain of sand would have mountains and valleys. From space, the earth looks to be perfectly round like a bowling ball appearing perfectly smooth. God’s faithfulness gives us wonderful vantage points today but it is small potatoes to the view he has in store for us in eternity.
