The Plains of Hesitation

A quote this morning from William Moulton Marston:

“On the plains of hesitation, bleach the bones of countless millions who, on the threshold of victory, sat down to wait, and in waiting, died.”

The question that must be asked today is, “What am I waiting for?” There certainly is a place of tarrying and waiting for God, but what we choose to do in that time will determine whether we ever move or not. There are some things that I am to do today where the waiting has become fear or laziness. I need to have people in my life who spur me on to get moving. So every once in awhile, I like to evaluate the influences of my life. I need other people in my life, especially for those dreams that are bigger than I am. Actually, leadership really boils down to influence. Leaders are people who are going some place and are able to persuade others to go with them. The questions for me today are:

Who is influencing my life today?
Who else is being influenced by them?
Is their influence increasing or decreasing?

The question of increase or decrease is crucial. It indicates the direction my life is moving. Part of who I am is how I am being influenced.

To be like Jesus
To be like Jesus
All I ask, is to be like Him
All through life’s journey
From earth to glory
All I ask is to be like Him
