We crossed one of those seasonal lines this week as we officially entered summer. Changes are significant things that deserve at least a mention.
I found this statement about the first day of summer. When we cross significant time lines, it seems we should note it.
In the United States and the rest of the northern hemisphere, the first day of the summer season is the day of the year when the Sun is farthest north (on June 21st or 22nd). This day is known as the Summer Solstice.
The declination of the Sun on the Summer Solstice is known as the tropic of cancer. In the southern hemisphere, winter and summer solstices are exchanged so that the Summer Solstice is the day on which the Sun is farthest south.
The change of seasons is significant not only on the calendar but in life. There are seasons of refreshing and seasons of difficulties. If we look at each day as a series of seasons, we can enjoy the variety because we know that the season will be short lived. No matter what difficulties we may be facing, they are in a sense temporary. The Bible terminology is, “It came to pass…” We have a whole new season in front of us now. Praise God !
Psalm 150:1-6
Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heaven! 2 Praise him for his mighty works; praise his unequaled greatness! 3 Praise him with a blast of the ram's horn; praise him with the lyre and harp! 4 Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes! 5 Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals. 6 Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD! Praise the LORD!
Appreciate your variety today.
