Hallelujah !

Amazing is the best word I can use to describe the Christmas tradition we participated in yesterday. When I say we participated in, I am referring mostly to sitting and watching as the Voices of Omaha along with professional orchestra and soloists presented the classic “Handel’s Messiah” at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha. Colette from our church was singing in it so we loaded onto the bus and left for the big city to experience a classic written in 1741 by George Frederic Handel over just a 3 week period. Centuries later it remains as the premier holiday classical work telling the story of Jesus. We did get to participate by singing along with the “Hallelujah Chorus”. This is Thanksgiving week. I am thankful for classical works that survive the centuries with the true message of the Gospel attached.
