First Impressions

I am enjoying reading the book: "Fusion" by Nelson Searcy. It is said that seven minutes is all we get to make a first impression. In the church world that means that visitors decide in that first seven minutes whether or not they are coming back. So much for the thought that great sermons or beautiful music will bring them back. Those decisions are usually not made in a logical manner but are made by instinct and emotion. Those decisions are being made by looking at clues about the church atmosphere or the friendliness of the people. They are trying to figure out if they are compatible with the environment. It is always a good decision to evaluate first impressions from the viewpoint of a guest.
