Time spent on the fundamentals of the faith is time well spent. I have found myself restudying the basic truths of scripture and I am finding more about Jesus that I need to know. Paul wrote that the surpassing greatness of Christ was worth going after. It was worth pressing toward and the obligation. It all consumed him. In our busy schedules, we must continue that search for more of the riches of God’s mercy. We have been blessed in our lives to spend some time traveling to beautiful places. Places that cause us to realize how big and wonderful God is. We have stood under the mountains where the scriptures came alive about God being even bigger than the mountain. God moving the mountain at His command, and the mountains melting before Him. We have driven through beautiful valleys and across majestic plains. We serve a big God. Yesterday in my sermon, I talked about a reference to the book of Colossians where the deity of Christ is emphasized. He is Eternal. He is the creator of all things. He is the holder of all things. He is the head of the church. He is the example of resurrection as the first one. He is the only way to peace with God. If we can come out of this year with
these truths intact in out hearts, we will be well on our way to greater things with God.
