Divine Rhythm

A quote from the book: “Too small to ignore” by Dr. Wes Stafford President and CEO of Compassion International

“If we are not attuned to the divine rhythm as we move through our lives, we will miss the richness of today as well as the potential of tomorrow.”

I was blessed by that line in my early morning reading today.
We cannot allow hurry to dominate our lives or we will arrive at tomorrow all out of breath. God will still be saying “Just trust me” but we will be unable to hear His words. To trust is to relax and know that we are in good hands. In my study of “Discipleship” this year, I am finding that a first step is to slow down and marinate in the promises and presence of God. Spending time at the filling station is key to being able to endure the trip. The promise from God is that if we seek Him, we will find Him.

A new chorus we are doing at church :

The More I seek you
The More I find you
The More I find you
The More I love you

I want to sit at your feet
Drink from the cup in your hand
Lean back against you and breathe
Feel your heartbeat

This love is so deep
It’s more than I can stand
I melt in your peace
It’s overwhelming.

I know life is busy and the schedule is full. We have things to do and people to see, but above all that is our opportunity today to have that audience with God. He is the “Ancient of days” and knows what is best for me. He alone is worthy to be praised. I’m moving to His rhythm today.
