Stay in step

When I was in marching band it was our job as the drum section to play the cadence for the pace. The conductor was responsible for setting the pace and it was our job to keep it going. In our spiritual lives we have a similar concept as the Holy Spirit sets the pace that we need to go and God sets leaders in place to remind us by making the rhythm audible. If we follow the right leadership, we will cover the territory that is appointed to us. The key is to hear that cadence, have the passion to stay on task and to stay in step. Being out of step with the Holy Spirit makes us inefficient and negatively affects those around us.

Some things to do today with your steps:

Step up to the plate. It is your turn at bat for some things today.
Step away from bad choices no matter how tempting they are.
Step down from the lofty perch to do something in the real world.
Step into the plan that God has for you.
Step over the obstacles that hinder your progress.

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
