Busy Times

About a year ago, I posted the following blog entry. Since I know very few people go back into blog archives, I like to bring some older thoughts to the top burner. If it was good a year ago, It might just be still relevant today. I really like the quote from Thoreau. Causes me to take a look at my schedule.

It is not enough to be busy; so are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?
-HENRY DAVID THOREAU

We are a busy society. Life in the fast lane seems to be the order of the day this time of year. We have had several days of freezing rain and drizzle this week and we find our vehicles spinning their wheels and losing traction. It can be really misleading to be making good time because of the tailwind while not knowing where we are going. We may in fact be seemingly traveling at a good speed according to the speedometer, while we are spinning in place and not really going anywhere. It is good to look outside once in awhile to be sure we are making progress. Traction in life is helped by firm footing. It means we are able to get a grip to move from point A to point B.

As you go through this Christmas season, be sure you keep your traction and be busy about the right things.
