In the Leadership challenge book that I am reading, I found the following valid statement this morning:
“You can’t believe in the messenger if you don’t know what the messenger believes”
I expect the leaders in my life to speak out about matters of values and conscience. I cannot walk the talk if there is no talk to walk. Articulating deeply held beliefs is an art worth developing. I am always amazed when I visit with people who claim to follow Jesus Christ but really have spent no real effort to study His teachings and passions. The promises in the Word of God are indeed mine, but I will miss them if I don’t know what they are.
“Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15
Excavating in the Word of God for promises and truth is a great hobby.
