The first two seconds

In todays fast paced world, it is necessary to be able to make decisions quickly. It is called "Thinking on our feet" or "Rapid cognition". The gap between blind impulses and trained intuition is huge. It can rescue us or work against us. Developing that sense of instinct will help us in pressure-filled decisions. There are experiences that filter our reactions. Jesus is our greatest example of someone who could sift through quickly and throw out the irrelevant. He was consistent and unwavering in His mission. In Kenny Luck's book, "Risk",(recommended reading), he puts it this way, "Jesus Christ owned the first two seconds of any situation." He was constantly being faced with moments that required efficient responses. He always honored His Father and the mission for which He was here.

"My food...is to do the will of him who sent me." John 4:34
