Endurance

Yesterday, I started a new sermon series for November and December. I have been looking forward for months to get rolling with this series on “Endurance”. The key verse from the Bible is found in Romans 5:4:

“ And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation.”

We have Defining Moments, Defining Decisions and Defining Actions.
The Bible Talks of Defining Endurance,
an Endurance that changes you and actually defines who you are.

We will be making connections in the web of understanding of this subject

Such as:

Risk
Reality
Rallying
Rainy Days
Rate
Reasoning
Rebellion
Restraint
Release
Repair
Rest
Rewards

Each of these fits in the Endurance web in a unique way. At some level we must deal with each of these just to keep going.

Yesterday, with a treadmill on the platform, Rachel, one of our great teenagers, and a cross country runner, ran a full three miles, and Robyn, one of the key leaders of our church, rode a stationary bike for several miles while I preached the sermon. It was a reminder that endurance requires effort in training and ability to get the “Second wind” to keep going.

Next Sunday, it about “Hanging in there”. It’s worth it!
