Kingdom Characteristics

My sermon yesterday focused on three characteristic of the Kingdom of God.

Mercy- which is at the heart of us being able to even have a relationship with God.

Service- when it is done in humility gives credit to God instead of us.

Power- which is ours when we have the correct motives in our service.

Here are the foundation scriptures to the message:

Psalm 119:89-93 89 Your eternal word, O LORD, stands firm in heaven. 90 Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created. 91 Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves your plans. 92 If your instructions hadn't sustained me with joy, I would have died in my misery. 93 I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.

John 1:1-4 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. 4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.

A song:

Wonderful Merciful Saviour
Precious redeemer and friend
Who would have thought that a lamb could
Rescue the souls of men
Oh rescue the souls of men

You are the one that we love
You are the one we adore
You give the healing and grace our
Hearts always hunger for
Oh our hearts always hunger for.
