All we need

Closed my Father's Day sermon yesterday by looking at one of my favorite verses in the whole Bible.

2 Peter 1:3 [God's] divine power has given us everything we need for life and Godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

It is good to remember that we have all we need for life and Godliness. Failure to remember that will cause us to doubt and that works against faith, the very thing that is required for us to access the "all we need" things.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Ponder the "Great and precious" promises today.
