Refreshing Rain

Just a few reflections of an amazing day yesterday. You will notice that I did not write "an Easy day" but rather "an Amazing day". Participating in a large funeral of someone I have been close to brings up major emotions that season everything else we do that day. My friend Justin died from an aggressive form of cancer that swept through his body over about a two week period from diagnosis to death. It was an amazing time for his family, those of us in his church family, and his many friends. His solid faith in Jesus Christ brought the element of peace and joy into the mix of the day. God in His infinite mercy gave us a wonderful follow up to the day. The third Wednesday each month is the evening of SPAW, (Service of Praise and Worship), a time of testimonies, prayer and music that always refreshes. God, who knows exactly what we need gave us a time of "rain" from heaven that we all needed. He opened the floodgates of heaven and let it rain. At the same time, there was a refreshing thunderstorm brewing outside the building that yielded a sweet smelling air that we walked out into when it came time to go home. We are Blessed!!!!!!
